$75K donation for Camp HOPE

A unique Ventura County program that helps children exposed to trauma has received a major donation from Ventura County Credit Union (VCCU).

Camp HOPE is the first evidence-based camping and mentoring program in the U.S. focused on children exposed to trauma. It received a $75,000 donation as part of VCCU’s “Year of Giving” celebrating its 75th anniversary.

A giant check was presented to the Ventura County Family Justice Center Foundation at the annual Voices of Hope gala on May 29 at The Walnut Grove at Tierra Rejada Farms in Moorpark.

VCCU President and CEO Linda Rossi said they are proud to support Camp HOPE.

“We believe in empowering brighter futures and this transformative program does exactly that for some of our community’s most vulnerable youth, helping to provide a pathway to healing, resilience and long-term success.”

Officials said VCCU’s donation will support continued efforts toward providing trauma-informed programs and critical wraparound services to children and families impacted by violence and abuse.
