Hope United Survivor Network Becomes an Affiliated Family Justice Center
GASTON COUNTY, N.C. – Hope United Survivor Network is proud to announce its new designation as an Affiliated Family Justice Center through Alliance for HOPE International, a national organization dedicated to improving responses to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.
Becoming an affiliated center marks an important milestone for Hope United and the community it serves. As an Affiliated Family Justice Center, Hope United joins a worldwide network of centers committed to providing coordinated, trauma-informed services for survivors of interpersonal violence.
“This affiliation represents more than a designation—it’s a promise to our community,” said Tara Joyner, Director of Hope United Survivor Network. “By joining the Alliance for HOPE International network, we’re reaffirming our commitment to survivors and to Gaston County. It means bringing every resource, every partner, and every bit of compassion together under one roof so that no survivor ever has to walk this path alone. This is about transforming the way our community responds to violence—with unity, accountability, and hope.”
Catherine Johnson, President & CEO of Alliance for HOPE International, shared, “We are proud to support our affiliated partners at Hope United Survivor Network in Gaston County, North Carolina, in advancing hope-centered, trauma-informed practices for survivors and families. Family Justice Centers unite communities, providing life-saving, collaborative resources and services that meet the needs of survivors.”
"I'm very thankful for what this whole team does," Gaston County Board of Commissioners Chairman Chad Brown said. "What's happening is we are changing lives. Our team becomes the face for those who cannot show their face, walking through these awful times with them, hand in hand."
Through the Family Justice Center model, Hope United will continue its mission to wrap services around survivors while working to reduce barriers on their journey to a life free from abuse. This approach brings together partner agencies—including law enforcement, prosecutors, advocates, counselors, and community organizations—to provide comprehensive support in one coordinated system.
Affiliation with Alliance for HOPE International provides Hope United with:
• Access to national best practices and technical assistance;
• Opportunities for collaboration with other Family Justice Centers across the country; and
• A research-based framework that promotes survivor-centered, trauma-informed services.
This affiliation strengthens Hope United’s long-standing commitment to collaboration, innovation, and community partnership in the effort to end interpersonal violence and support survivors and their families across Gaston County.
